Woundtech is hiring a Manager of Process Excellence who will lead process improvement, operational optimization, standardization, and transformation initiatives across Operations and Quality.
This role will be responsible for understanding end-to-end operational processes, identifying inefficiencies and improvement opportunities, redesigning workflows, establishing scalable processes, and partnering with Technology, Data, Automation, and AI teams to implement solutions that improve productivity, quality, turnaround time, scalability, cost, and overall operational effectiveness.
The individual will serve as a key liaison between Operations, Quality, Technology, and AI/Automation teams, translating business and operational challenges into clearly defined requirements, improvement opportunities, and transformation initiatives.
This role will help establish a roadmap for progressively making key operational processes more efficient, standardized, automated, data-driven, and AI-enabled.
Process Excellence & Operational Transformation
- Lead cross-functional process improvement and transformation initiatives across Operations and Quality.
- Develop a deep understanding of end-to-end operational workflows, processes, systems, and dependencies.
- Conduct current-state assessments to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, unnecessary handoffs, duplication, manual effort, and process gaps.
- Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, optimize, automate, and transform operational processes.
- Design future-state processes that improve efficiency, quality, scalability, turnaround time, and employee experience.
- Develop and maintain standardized processes, SOPs, workflows, and operating frameworks.
- Apply structured process improvement and problem-solving methodologies to address operational challenges.
- Conduct root-cause analysis and develop sustainable solutions rather than short-term fixes.
- Establish process governance and continuous improvement mechanisms.
Technology & Transformation Roadmap
- Partner with Operations and Quality leadership to identify business and process improvement priorities.
- Translate operational challenges into clear business requirements and technology opportunities.
- Work closely with Technology, Data, Automation, and AI teams to evaluate potential solutions.
- Develop and maintain process transformation roadmaps aligned with business priorities.
- Prioritize initiatives based on business impact, feasibility, complexity, and expected benefits.
- Support development of business cases based on productivity, quality, cost, turnaround time, scalability, and employee experience.
- Ensure technology solutions are designed around the right process and address the underlying business problem.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams through requirements, design, testing, implementation, adoption, and benefits measurement.
AI & Automation Enablement
- Identify opportunities where AI, automation, analytics, or intelligent workflows can improve operational processes.
- Work with Operations and Quality teams to identify high-value AI and automation use cases.
- Identify repetitive, manual, rule-based, and decision-intensive activities that may be suitable for automation or AI enablement.
- Partner with Technology and AI teams to translate identified opportunities into practical solutions.
- Drive initiatives such as AI-enabled workflows, intelligent task routing, scheduling optimization, automated follow-ups, documentation support, reporting automation, data validation, and other operational use cases.
- Identify opportunities to use AI to improve operational decision-making and reduce manual effort.
- Track implementation progress and ensure AI/automation initiatives deliver the intended operational outcomes.
- Measure and communicate business benefits from AI and automation initiatives.
- Stay aware of business applications of emerging technologies and proactively identify opportunities where they may benefit Woundtech operations.
Note: Prior AI or technical AI implementation experience is not required for this role. The individual should have the ability to understand operational problems, identify opportunities for technology/AI enablement, and effectively partner with technical teams to execute solutions.
Quality & Audit Transformation
- Partner with Quality teams to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of quality and auditing processes.
- Identify opportunities to increase audit coverage through technology, automation, analytics, and AI-enabled solutions.
- Explore opportunities to move beyond traditional sample-based auditing toward higher levels of transaction review and monitoring.
- Identify recurring errors, process gaps, documentation issues, compliance risks, and operational patterns through data and quality insights.
- Partner with Technology/AI teams to develop solutions that identify exceptions, anomalies, documentation gaps, and quality risks.
- Use audit and quality findings to identify root causes and drive process improvements, training, and operational interventions.
- Ensure technology-enabled quality solutions have appropriate controls, validation, and human oversight.
Operational Automation
- Identify and prioritize opportunities to automate repetitive operational activities.
- Evaluate processes such as scheduling, work allocation, task routing, follow-ups, reporting, data validation, documentation, and other manual activities for automation opportunities.
- Work with Technology and Automation teams to define requirements and desired outcomes.
- Support implementation from process discovery and requirements through testing, deployment, adoption, and benefits realization.
- Continuously evaluate implemented solutions to identify further optimization opportunities.
Role Essentials
- 10+ years of US healthcare RCM / healthcare operations experience – Mandatory.
- 5+ years of leadership experience in Operations, Quality, Process Excellence, Transformation, Continuous Improvement, or related functions – Mandatory.
- Demonstrated experience leading process improvement, operational optimization, and transformation initiatives.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end operational workflows and the ability to identify process inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
- Demonstrated experience in process redesign, standardization, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
- Experience identifying and implementing automation and technology-enabled process improvements.
- Ability to translate business and operational problems into clear requirements and solution opportunities.
- Strong understanding of operational metrics and ability to use data to identify improvement opportunities and measure outcomes.
- Experience working effectively with Technology, Data, Automation, and Operations teams.
- Strong project management and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Ability to develop roadmaps, prioritize initiatives, and manage multiple transformation projects.
- Ability to influence senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority.
- Strong understanding of quality management, auditing, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Experience working with operational systems, dashboards, analytics platforms, workflow tools, and/or automation technologies.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and operate effectively in a rapidly changing environment.
